Finding Space and Silence in a World That Never Stops Talking
Being an introvert in an extroverted world can feel like swimming against the tide. While some find energy in socializing and constant interaction, introverts often seek comfort in quiet moments and deep thoughts. In this article, I explore the everyday challenges that come with being an introvert and how I’ve learned to navigate them while embracing my unique strengths.
1. Social Situations
Socializing is hard for me. Crowds drain my energy. At parties or gatherings, I often feel overwhelmed. People sometimes ask, “Why are you so quiet?” and at that time I always remember Writer Kurt Vonnegut’s quote :
“Have I ever asked you why you are so talkative? I function that way. I’m quiet. I’m not a loud person. I don’t talk much. I’m just not like that. I’m just a quiet person.”
2. Small Talk
Small talk feels pointless. I find it hard to engage in conversations that don’t go deep. I’ve often stood at social events, unsure of what to say. I prefer meaningful talks, but those are rare in everyday life.
